Preconception Counseling

Are you thinking about starting a family? Are you “trying” to conceive and having difficulty? Or are you simply planning ahead so that you have a healthy, happy pregnancy? At Bukovina, we can help you optimize your health before conceiving to prepare your body and mind for this exciting time. We will assess your hormonal balance through naturopathic cycle monitoring, lab work, and discussing your symptoms. We will then work with you to create a natural, effective treatment plan that addresses all of your health concerns and corrects any hormonal imbalances. With the range of natural treatment options we have, we can successfully address PCOS, anovulatory cycles, endometriosis, recurrent miscarriage, unexplained infertility and other issues involving fertility to help you achieve your desire to have a child.

BioIdentical Hormones

The doctors at Bukovina work with local and national compounding pharmacists to design hormonal therapies that are customized just for you. Not everyone is alike, and although we do rely partially on symptoms to treat imbalances, often hormonal lab testing is necessary in order to get a complete picture of your current state and be able to bring your hormones back into harmony. Bioidentical hormones can be extremely effective and helpful for women during perimenopause to help smooth out fluctuations and reduce or eliminate symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, weight gain, emotional shifts, sleep problems and other concerns that have you ‘not feeling like yourself’. We also customize hormone therapy for men in this phase of life who may be experiencing symptoms of low hormone function such as depression, lack of motivation, low libido and fatigue.

Menstrual Irregularities

We offer a well-rounded approach for women who have menstrual irregularities such as PCOS, endometriosis, PMS, amenorrhea, excessive bleeding, and pain with your cycle. You don’t have to suffer through pain, irregular cycles, mood swings or heavy bleeding; and, your menstrual cycle should not make you feel miserable! We offer support for young women and teens in establishing a healthy lifestyle and regular cycles early on to prevent later issues. Often we will test hormones as well as take a thorough history in order to find the cause of your menstrual irregularities, which may include other systems such as thyroid imbalance, iron deficiency, metabolic dysfunction and nutrient deficiencies among others.
